Considering a hair transplant? It’s easy to be tempted by the promise of hair transplant packages in Turkey. These all-inclusive offers are marketed to create a sense of convenience, value, and luxury, so it’s clear why many people choose Turkey for their hair transplant.
But are Turkey hair transplant packages really worth it? Here, find out whether Turkish hair transplant costs give you genuine value — and, most importantly, whether it’s safe to travel for a cheap hair transplant package in Turkey. Discover:
Not all clinics have the same offering, but many provide all-inclusive packages that cover accommodation, travel, surgery, and aftercare. Let’s take a look at what’s typically included in Turkish hair transplant packages.
Since packages are marketed to overseas medical tourists, hotel stays are almost always included in your package. Most packages include a 2-3 night stay in a 4* or 5* hotel.
High end hotels in Istanbul are much cheaper than those in London, New York, and other UK and US cities. Here are some sample rates:

Luxury hotel stays are relatively cheap in Istanbul. Booking your own hotel won’t set you back too much, and you’ll be able to choose your own options (such as airport transfers, star rating, and meals included).
Private airport transfer is essential if you’re going abroad for a hair transplant. It reduces the risk of knocking your freshly transplanted grafts on public transport or in shared transfer services.
However, travelling around Istanbul by taxi is also relatively cheap, with a private pre-booked taxi from the airport to Taksim costing around £30 each way. So getting this included in your hair transplant package won’t save you too much.
The bulk of your package payment will go towards your surgery. Turkish hair transplant costs tend to be cheaper than in the UK and US thanks to several different factors:
All the other factors affecting hair transplant cost still apply in Turkey, such as the number of hair grafts you need and whether you opt for FUE vs FUT surgery.
Although the cost of hair transplant surgery in Turkey is lower than elsewhere, it’s still really important to be aware of the red flags for Turkish hair transplant clinics. It’s easier for low quality clinics to evade safety protocols in Turkey, so know what you’re looking for before agreeing any terms.
It’s difficult for Turkish clinics to provide adequate aftercare services to patients from overseas. It’s not possible to nip into the clinic for a check-up after you’ve returned home if you have any concerns about how your hair transplant is healing.
However, some clinics will include certain aftercare services in their packages, such as:
Most clinics in the UK offer these aftercare services as standard at no additional charge, as well as free in-person check ups and aftercare provisions. So you’re unlikely to be making any savings on these services.
Some clinics offer extra services and perks, such as sightseeing tours and guided shopping day trips in Istanbul. This may seem like a fun opportunity, but it could actually be harmful to your hair.
If your planned tour takes place the day after your hair transplant (as many do), you could be putting your new grafts at risk. The day after surgery you should get as much rest as possible to promote healing and facilitate a smooth recovery.
Rates vary between clinics and package levels, but our research shows that the average cost of a hair transplant in Turkey is £1,464 (€1,745 or $1,840). The cheapest package options tend to cost around this much, though some clinics offer upgraded packages at a higher price.
Here are some Turkish clinics and their cheapest package costs as of April 2025:
Turkish hair transplant costs tend to be cheaper than in the UK and US, and clever marketing can make it seem like opting for a package deal is a risk-free way to save money and get great hair regrowth.
But there are inherent risks to travelling abroad for a hair transplant, especially to countries with less strictly enforced safety standards like Turkey.
It’s easy and cheap to set up a glossy website that claims to provide safe, cheap hair transplants. But it’s much harder to create a safe surgical environment with a qualified, skilled surgical team. There have been reports of estate agents, taxi drivers, and unqualified refugees performing hair transplants in black market Turkish clinics [1].
This doesn’t just put your hair at risk — it can lead to serious complications like infection, necrosis, and even death. Hair transplant deaths are rare, but there have been multiple reports of it following procedures in Turkey [2-3].
Finding an established, reputable clinic can help reduce the more serious risks. But there are risks even with longstanding clinics in Turkey:
For these reasons, it’s best to get your hair transplant at a clinic you can visit beforehand, so you know exactly where your surgery will take place and who will perform it.
Getting a hair transplant can be a transformative experience. It can give you back your confidence and help you cultivate the lifestyle you really want. And while it may be cheap to get a hair transplant overseas, you don’t need to travel to get real value from your hair transplant experience. Here, Wimpole Clinic patient Neil discusses why he chose the Wimpole Clinic for his hair transplant:

Not usually. Most packages exclude the cost of flights. Speak to your preferred clinic to see if they can cover the cost of your flights.
Unfortunately, as with any type of surgery, there are no guarantees with a hair transplant. The success of a hair transplant procedure depends on lots of different factors, including safe graft harvesting and care, hygienic surgical practices, and adequate aftercare. Lacking any of these can seriously compromise your results.
If your clinic is offering a guarantee, this is a red flag. To fix a failed hair transplant they may need to harvest more grafts, and if the first transplant fails, there can be no guarantee the second will succeed. This could lead to overharvesting, compromising your donor area.
As a result, it’s best to avoid clinics that offer any kind of guarantee or warranty. Instead, opt for a clinic with an excellent track record of results and a reputation for honesty.
Many packages include up to 6,000 grafts in the cost. So a 5000 graft hair transplant may cost the same as 1000 or even 500 graft hair transplant in Turkey (from €1,450 to €3,000).
Some clinics advertise “maximum” graft take. This should ring alarm bells, as good clinics should only harvest as many grafts as they need to give you the coverage you need. This protects your donor area in case of future potential transplants.
